Our primary offering is professionally coached, small group training. We also offer personal, semi-private and team training.
FREE Introductory Session
Your first session is always FREE. You will learn how to implement a proper warm-up. You will also learn what is arguably the most important functional movement (hint: if you've had any exposure to exercise, you've likely done it - if you've been training in a typical gym we all but guarantee your doing it wrong). Then we will run you through a very modest CrossFit workout. The purpose of this session is to help you understand how we operate as it is far removed from what most people envision a gym to be. It affords you the opportunity to decide if the pursuit of real fitness is for you. It also afford us the opportunity to gauge whether your a good fit for our club. It's all about attitude. We don't care what you're currently physical capacities are - we are only looking for motivated, committed individuals who will improve the dynamic of the entire gym.
CrossFit Foundations Program
Although the ultimate goal is to maximize the intensity (read power output) of our workouts, anything but a gradual ramp up to said intensity is a recipe for disaster. The progression we use to achieve this successful introduction to high powered workouts is mechanics (perform movements properly) then consistency (perform movements properly repetitively) then, and only then, intensity. Our Foundations Program focuses primarily on mechanics. You will learn our 9 key foundational movements as well as some ancillary movements of particular utility. We also outline what the CrossFit program actually is and why it works. Effective nutrition strategies are also discussed. Depending on your needs and requirements, this course can be performed privately, semi-privately or in a group setting. Additional sessions are optional and may in some circumstances be required. Graduation from Foundations is mandatory for all members in order to participate in the WOD.
The WOD (Workout Of the Day)
We hybridize the best elements of personal training (ample attention, accountability) with the benefits of group training (inspiration, motivation, camaraderie). This class structure, combined with the CrossFit methodology, provides a service that is not only amazingly efficient, effective and fun but delivers unprecedented value.
Personal and Semi-Private Training
If you aren't comfortable working with a group or have scheduling limitations this option may be for you.
Team Training
CrossFit is a GPP (General Physical Preparedness) program. GPP provides the necessary foundation from which sport specific attributes can be developed.
As a Coach, having your athletes train with us will make them more coachable. Without adequate development of the 10 fitness domains, attempting to teach techniques and tactics will take far longer and in some cases may not be possible. We will also attack and chase down any chinks in your athletes 'armour'. The presence of this total physical prowess will remove one of the major obstacles to your clubs success. You, no doubt, are highly specialized and passionate with regard to the specifics of your sport. Our passion and specialty is strength and conditioning. Removing the burden of having to organize and implement a conditioning program frees up valuable time to concentrate on the task at hand - working with your athletes on the minutia of the particular sport and finding ways to deliver a successful season.
As an athlete, the fitness we deliver will give you the edge you need to make the cut, stand out on your team and dominate your opponents. If your still on the machines and doing isolation work you are committing a cardinal sin. You are an athlete. While Bodybuilding is considered by many to be a 'sport', it is not based on performance but aesthetics. When you lose the game, lose the race or let your teammates down, the size of your biceps is irrelevant. Furthermore, Sport Specific Training (SST) has become a fad in recent years. The fact that it is a trend in commercial gyms should have the flags going up. If your not an elite athlete (do you make a living from your sport ?), Sport Specific Training will have limited benefit. You're getting tons of SST with the hours of skill and drills, practice, scrimmage and games/competitions you already engage in. You already have a 'SST Trainer' in your Coach (if their good). You will, however, have multiple glaring weaknesses (partly related to exclusively participating in sport specific activities) that are inhibiting your progression as an athlete. Our program naturally exposes and develops those weaknesses. Although counter-intuitive, filling in the gaps in your fitness will dramatically improve your performance - even when the attribute seems unrelated to the demands of you sport. Make no mistake - without advanced development of GPP you are not maximizing, nor will you ever reach, your potential. Whether your a weekend warrior who wants to best his buddies or a motivated youth looking for a scholarship, CrossFit Muskoka will play an integral part in reaching your goals.

Hey, that was interesting,
The free introductory session is a great incentive...
